Ultimate Frisbee - NSSW
As part of National School Sport Week, U.K Ultimate coach and player, Dan Berry and leaders from Isleworth & Syon and Lampton School introduced the game to enthusiastic Year 5 & 6 students at Spring Grove Primary on Thursday 1st July. The students learnt the basics including grip, forehand and backhand, catching and the game itself. With the help of the leaders, the students at Spring Grove picked up the game relatively quickly and had fun.
Moreover, afterschool Dan gave more expert coaching to teams from both Isleworth and Lampton and it concluded in a tightly contested game between the two sides, with Isleworth & Syon coming out on top. Both Isleworth & Syon and Lampton schools are looking to continue their Ultimate clubs in September through Sport unlimited funding. It is hoped that other schools in Hounslow and the surrounding area take up this new and exciting sport and thus a league can be created.
