On Monday 28th June, Sport Impact organised an afternoon at Hounslow Manor School to train Sport leaders to support Primary School competition across Hounslow. One Hundred Sport Leaders in seven secondary attended the event. All leaders had an opportunity to participate in Football or Netball coaching sessions to prepare them. These sessions involved the leaders being officials, team managers and coaches. In addition, leaders were given an array of fun warm up games, technical and tactical practices to use and adopt in their training sessions. Furthermore, all leaders were informed by questionnaire of the cluster and borough competition support opportunities, women & girls events and community volunteering opportunities. All Sport leaders can log their volunteer hours on Step into Sport and have access to the many coaching and officiating courses that will be on offer from September via ‘Sport Impact.’ In addition it is expected that these leaders that attended this event will support their cluster primary schools with coaching and tournament preparation in both football and netball in September.
