Students fly high at Ultimate Frisbee Event
Ultimate Frisbee
On Thursday 24th September a group of Year 8 students and Year 10 & 11 Sport Leaders were invited to the European Ultimate Championship Finals at Harlington Sports Ground.
During the afternoon Isleworth & Syon students received coaching sessions which were fun and interactive and developed their technical and understanding of the game. As the afternoon progressed, everyone improved and picked up the game relatively quickly. In addition the group met and played Ultimate with a selection of players they had just been watching. The players were from Clapham and London Fire, two of the best teams in the U.K.
Prior to the European Ultimate Championships, Isleworth & Syon School hosted ‘UK Ultimate Leader coaching award’ on Tuesday 22nd September. Candidates learnt the rules, basic techniques and tactics and also a selection of fun warm up and possession games.
Mr Mawn, with the assistance of newly qualified Sport leaders, plans to organise Year 8 Ultimate Coaching sessions and matches in the Summer Term.
