Green Dragon victorious in boys' football
Event Title: Year 5/6 Boys’ Football Preliminary Round

Schools Involved: St. Mary’s Isleworth, Isleworth Town, Green Dragon, Our Lady & St. John and St.Paul’s

Number of Participants:Age/School Year: Year 5/6 Boys, 5 teams (50 students) + 3 Sport Leaders
Report:
Schools from Isleworth and Brentford took part in the Year 5/6 Boys’ Football Preliminary Round held at Goals, Gillette Corner on Monday 5th December 2011. On a cold afternoon, five schools played each other in a round robin format. There was plenty of determination, good sportsmanship and skills on display by all teams. Congratulations to all players, teachers and Sport Leaders involved who contributed to an enjoyable and quality competition. Green Dragon won the competition, winning all four matches. Our Lady and St. John School edged out St. Mary’s, Isleworth to take runners-up spot by goal difference. Isleworth Town and St. Paul’s finished fourth and fifth respectively. The top two teams, Green Dragon and Our Lady & St. John qualify for the Borough finals on Tuesday 24th January. In addition thank you to the Sport leaders from Isleworth & Syon School who did a commendable job in refereeing.
